Workshop on Bridging the Scales in Glasses

Duesseldorf, Germany, July 18-20, 2012

In July 2012 a workshop on 'Bridging the Scales in Glasses' will be held at the University of Duesseldorf. This workshop is a sequel to previous meetings in Wolfersdorf organised by the AK 4 'Non-crystalline and partially-crystalline structures' of the German Society of Crystallography (DGK).

The workshop will be on the structure and dynamics of structural glasses with a special focus on the microscopic mechanisms of macroscopic processes such as diffusive transport, fracture, shear-banding, and phase-separation.

It shall bring together scientists from physics, chemistry and engineering working both on fundamental and applied problems.

If you are interested in contributing to the scientific programme of the workshop you are kindly invited to submit an abstract to horbach@thphy.uni-duesseldorf.de. Deadline for submissions is April 15, 2012.
